Articles of Faith
(a) We believe that "all Scripture is given by inspriation of God,
and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for
instruction in righteousness; that the man of God may be perfect,
thoroughly furnished unto all good works." (II Tim. 3:16,
17).
(b) We believe in one God eternally in three persons, Father, Son,
and Holy Spirit.
We believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of Heaven and earth. We
believe in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, our Lord, who was
conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under
Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead and buried. He descended into hell.
The third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven, and
seated on the right hand of God, the Father Almighty. From thence He
shall come to judge the quick and the dead. We believe in the Holy
Spirit, the holy Christian church, the communion of Saints, the
forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life
everlasting.
(c) We believe in the personality of the Holy Spirit who came from
God to convict the world of sin, of righteousness and of judgment and to
regenerate, sanctify and comfort those who believe in Jesus Christ. (John
14:26; John 16:8-11).
(d) We believe that all men are sinners and are therefore eternally
separated from God and that man can be reconciled to God only through
acceptance of Jesus Christ as personal Lord and Saviour. (Rom.
3:23; II Cor. 5:18).
(e) We believe that the church is a living spiritual body of which
Christ is the head and of which all regenerated people are members. (Col.
1:18; Eph. 1:22, 23).
(f) We believe in the complete separation of church and State.
The Ordinances
We believe the Bible teaches the observance of only two ordinances -
Baptism and the Lord's Supper.
The only Biblical mode of baptism is immersion. Baptism is an outward
symbol of an inner experience and thus symbolizes the believer's death
to sin, burial of the old life, and resurrection to newness of life in
Christ. Rom. 6:3-11. Baptism does not save and should only follow
belief in the Lord Jesus Christ as Saviour.
The ordinance of the Lord's Supper or Communion is in remembrance of
the giving of the body and blood of the Lord Jesus Christ for our sins.
It is a medium for communing with Christ, not each other, and is to be
taken by believers who are living in obedience to Christ. I Cor.
11:23-33.
